A Grand Finale!

Posted Sunday, August 3 at 10:28PM

And that's a wrap!

With Daughtry's mind-blowing performance fresh in the minds of more than 15,000 screaming fans, the opening chords of "Welcome To The Jungle" erupted from the speakers, and a spectacular display of fireworks concluded Toms River Fest 2008. What an ending!

And what a day -- from Collective Soul's opening chords, to Daughtry joining Live onstage for a great version of Johnny Cash's "I Walk The Line," to teams of young women screaming for Avril Lavigne and the barrels of fun had in the Kiddie City, the Sports Zone and beyond. We couldn't have asked for a better day for such an awesome event.

THANK YOU TOMS RIVER!

Check back Monday for pictures from the entire weekend!

Day 1 Wrap-Up; Day 2 Preview: Wear sunscreen!

Posted Sunday, August 3 at 9:54AM

If yesterday was a day for ponchos and umbrellas, today's a day for sunscreen and dark shades.

The weather forecast looks sublime, and as we speak, the festival grounds are drenched in warm sun, low humidity and temperatures in the upper 70s. Things will kick off at 2pm when gates open, followed by Collective Soul at 3:15 and Live at 5pm on the Pine Belt Day Stage.

Things will kick off on the Lester Glenn Main Stage at 7:15pm with Avril Lavigne, followed by Daughtry at 9pm.

Tickets for today's show will be available at the gates all day and night! You don't need a ticket to board a shuttle bus -- park at one of our pick-up locations, board a shuttle, come on down and get your tickets at the venue! We have seats and general admission tickets available.

Now, about last night...

Talk about the weather...

Posted Saturday, August 2 at 4:50PM

4:50PM UPDATE: A quick sprinkle of rain, and bam... we're back in action! Doppler Radar shows a small line of showers coming through in the next 10 minutes, but it tooks like Toms River is going to avoid the bad weather that has plagued the northern areas of the state.

Temperatures are hovering in the high 70s and we're ready for a beautiful night 'neath the stars. Gavin DeGraw hits the Pine Belt Day Stage in a few minutes, followed by Lifehouse at 6:15pm. At 8pm, The Lost Trailers will hit the Lester Glenn Auto Group Main Stage, followed by tonight's headliner Carrie Underwood at 9pm.

Tickets are still available at the gates for today's show. Tickets for tomorrow with Daughtry, Live, Avril Lavigne and others are on sale through Ticketmaster, and they'll be available at the gates tomorrow, too.

Are... you... READY?

When these guys aren't being featured on ESPN, MTV or countless other TV networks, they're actually based here in New Jersey. Hell On Wheels describes itself as a sports entertainment company where the world's best riders come together. And on August 2nd and 3rd, they'll come together at Toms River Fest for an array of daredevlish stunts and surprises.

It's Friday, July 18th. Toms River Fest 2008 is two weeks away. What are you waiting for? Click here to get your tickets online, or call Ticketmaster Phone Charge at 201-507-8900, 856-338-9000 or 609-520-8383. Now, according to Chris Daughtry's official blog, his band is busy writing new songs. "some amazing songs have been written over the past 6-7 weeks," the singer writes. "Between me, the guys, and some great writers we've been working with, I think we have some GREAT stuff!" Amongst those great writers: Ben Moody of Evanescence fame, Jersey's own Emerson Hart (of Tonic), and Shinedown's Dave Basset.

Carrie goes Cosmo, Lifehouse lights it up + Gavin goes BOOM!

Posted Monday, June 23 at 2:38PM

Check out the latest edition of Cosmopolitan for a big cover story on Toms River Fest headliner Carrie Underwood. The article takes an in-depth look at the person Underwood feels she is -- not the image she portrays in the public eye.

"That person [onstage] says the right things and does the right things," Underwood told Cosmo. "And you know, that person's cool. This person's not," Carrie says, pointing to herself." This person is human."

No matter which image you prefer, the real thing will be onstage on Saturday, August 2nd at Toms River Fest!

In news from other TRF performers, Lifehouse leader Jason Wade recently told Top40-charts.com that his band's summer tour is going to be unlike any other jaunt in the band's history.

"We've got some really big, blown-up artistic banners," Wade said. "So the stage will be a little bit more decorated this time. It's definitely going to be just as much a visual (experience) as the songs."

And finally, NBC television announced this week that TRF performer Gavin DeGraw will be a part of its annual Macy's 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular broadcast on Friday, July 4th at 9pm EST.
